"Turandot" is an opera about a Chinese princess who asks any man who wants to marry her to answer three riddles. If they fail the test, she has them executed and their heads mounted on pikes outside her palace. She's finally outwitted by the hero, Tatar Prince Calaf, who answers her riddles and ultimately marries her.
